Family fitness and fun all rolled in to one. Dads and daughters, mums and sons - everyone's welcome.
Referred to as the Martial Art for Life, Choi Kwang Do provides a safe environment for students of any age and the ability to train together.
A revolutionary martial art CKD combines modern sport science and effective self defence techniques which are aimed at promoting optimum health and personal development.
Choi Kwang Do is a holistic health system. We have many exciting and enjoyable drills used to develop aerobic and anaerobic fitness. Aerobic fitness training develops stamina and endurance, which assists you in daily life, Anaerobic training develops speed, agility and explosive power, which is essential in self-defence. The combination of both training methods assists in strengthening the heart and lungs. We also teach a complete stretching method designed to strengthen all muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones.
Our patterns use natural and rhythmic, fluid, contra lateral movements and we systematically train both sides of the body evenly, in coordination with the eyes, which allows students to stimulate and develop their brain as well as their muscles.

Practising as a Nutritional Therapist and Kinesiologist in a holistic way always involves discussing the exercise regime of clients. Tim was introduced to Choi Kwang Do and started training under 4th Dan Derek Bicknell in Winchester. Very quickly he discovered that the Choi Kwang Do training discipline offered everything required for good healthy exercise. Progressing through all colour belts to 1st Dan Black belt was a natural thing to do within the Choi Kwang Do system as is the desire to help others do the same! The benefits obtained are a long list including better health, more energy - whilst having fun and becoming part of the family of Choi Kwang Do.
